Theme: Sexualization of women and femininity within a minority living in Romania

​

The artistic residency aims to explore the sexualization of women and femininity within a minority, from the propagation of the phenomenon to common traits, customs and repercussions found within the community. 

 

The residency involves the collaboration between two visual artists who work mainly with photography, to create one or more works. The two artists will be selected by the CdRF team following this call. We accept applications only from Norwegian and Romanian artists.

We do not aim a specific amount of works. 

 

Promotion and exposure:

- two joint events to present the artistic approach and discuss with the audience held in Bucharest, ar the Resource Center for Photography;

- a final exhibition with the work/ works held in Bucharest, at the Resource Center for Photography;

- a workshop/ masterclass held by each of the two artists on a topic relevant to the artistic endeavour, in Bucharest, at the Resource Center for Photography.

 

Residence duration: one month (10th of March – 10th of April 2023)

Budget: 20.000 lei/ artist (approximately 4000 EUR) which covers the artist's fee and logistical expenses for accommodation, transport etc.

 

The Photography Resource Centre as organiser retains partial rights to the final work or works.

- a brief description (maxim one A4 page) of the artistic project proposal for the residence;

- portofolio in pdf format.
