About the exhibition:
Time has slowed down, the eye has cleared, and the identity lines have clarified. Through the continuity of this process, we can “read” the current project, perhaps the boldest yet, Loc | Loc-uire | Loc-uință, a series of new images, of which we see an exemplary selection, as well as a synthesis of these three key concepts. The photographs are the result of an almost performative action from the artist, who wanted to see with his own eyes and his camera’s what “the man’s best friend” sees from their own cage.
About the artist:
Bogdan Gîrbovan (b. 1981) is an artist who is always looking for the “images that don’t exist” in his work, more precisely for those visual occurrences that we miss, that we pass by without noticing them, not because we don’t see them, but rather because we don’t know how to look at them. Oftentimes, we don’t have the tools to access the perspectives that are sometimes uncomfortable, other times monotone, the ones that require patience and time, sometimes inquisitive until irritation, other times full of irony and flavour, through which the artist ends up approaching his topics.
