Intensive fashion photography course with Raluca Mărgescu (Ruuca)

This intensive course is designed for photographers who want to experience all the stages of a real fashion photography project. You will receive a brief from a young designer and work with a full team: professional model, make-up artist and hairstylist. The aim is to go through the entire creative and technical process, from concept to delivery of the final images.

What will you learn?

• How to interpret and respond to a brief from a designer

• Creating a coherent moodboard and planning a shoot

• Team organization: model, make-up, hairstylist, location scouting

• Conducting an individual photoshoot with a full team

• Selection and retouching of images for delivery to the client

Course structure

Week 1

• Session 1: Introduction to fashion photography, instructor introduction, historical context and course outline

  • Saturday, October 25, 11:00 – 15:00 (4h) – at CdRF

• Session 2: Receiving the brief from the designer, moodboard analysis and construction, shooting planning

  • Sunday, October 26, 11:00 – 17:00 (6h) – at CdRF

Week 2

• Session 3: Individual shooting – each participant has 2 hours for the photo shoot with the full team

  • Saturday & Sunday, November 1–2, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (18 hours total, 4 participants/day)

Week 3

• Session 4: Client feedback & retouching session on your own images

  • Saturday, November 8, 11:00 – 17:00 (6h) – at CdRF

• Session 5: Course wrap-up, handover of final set of images (6 photos/person), open discussion

  • Sunday, November 9, 11:00 – 13:00 (2h) – at CdRF

About the instructor

Raluca Mărgescu (Ruuca) is a fashion artist and photographer, active on the Romanian and international visual scene. She won the award for Best Photographer of the Year at the Elle Style Awards in 2022 and directed the film Peculiar , named Best Local Production at the Bucharest Fashion Film Festival. Her work has been published in magazines such as Elle, Glamour and Schön!, and her visual campaigns are distinguished by a strong aesthetic and a coherent vision.

• Recommended level: Intermediate – advanced (solid knowledge of general photography required; experience in studio photography is a plus)
